Position Description

This role focuses on providing specialized nursing care within an Interventional Radiology Lab setting. The position involves working closely with an interdisciplinary healthcare team to deliver high-quality care to both acute inpatient and elective outpatient populations. The lab handles a variety of advanced procedures, requiring expertise in cardiovascular and radiology nursing practices.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver comprehensive nursing care for procedures such as angiograms, peripheral revascularization, and vascular access including port placement.
  • Manage placement and maintenance of devices like hemodialysis catheters, nephrostomy drainage tubes, and gastrostomy/jejunostomy tubes.
  • Support pain management interventions, paracentesis, thoracentesis, and pre/post-procedural care for biopsies.
  • Respond to emergencies and provide care across all hours including weekends and holidays.
  • Collaborate with physicians, radiology technologists, and clinical teams to ensure patient safety and protocol adherence.
  • Maintain accurate documentation using Cerner and McKesson electronic medical records.

Qualifications And Desired Experience

  • Licensed Registered Nurse (RN) with experience or specialization in Interventional Radiology.
  • Strong understanding of vascular and catheter placement procedures.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, interdisciplinary environment.
  • Proficient with electronic medical record systems (preferably Cerner and McKesson).
  • Demonstrated skill in patient assessment, critical thinking, and emergency response.
