Position Description

This role involves providing specialized nursing care in an Interventional Radiology Lab that serves both acute inpatient and elective outpatient populations. Care is delivered within a cardiovascular lab setting, with a team of physicians, registered clinical nurses, and radiology technologists working collaboratively. The department operates around the clock to support emergency procedures on weekends, holidays, and off-hours.

Responsibilities

  • Perform and assist with angiograms of multiple systems and peripheral revascularization
  • Manage placement and maintenance of hemodialysis catheters, nephrostomy drainage tubes, gastrostomy and jejunostomy tubes
  • Provide central line placement and vascular access care, including port placement and integrity
  • Support pain management interventions and perform paracentesis/thoracentesis procedures
  • Administer pre- and post-procedure care for patients undergoing renal, liver, and lung biopsies
  • Facilitate carotid stenting procedures while attending to adolescent through geriatric patients

Qualifications

  • Registered Nurse (RN) licensure with experience in Interventional Radiology procedures
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, multidisciplinary environment and respond to emergencies 24/7
  • Competency in EMR systems such as Cerner and McKesson preferred
  • Strong skills in patient assessment, invasive procedure support, and critical thinking
  • Strict adherence to infection control and hospital policies COVID-19 vaccination is required, with documentation needed upon application
