Job Title: Registered Nurse – Rehab

Address: New York, NY 10019

Shift: 7:00 PM - 7:30 am

Contract: 13 weeks

Guaranteed hours: 34.50

Pay rate: Local: $55/hr

Travel: $2100/weekly

Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced and compassionate Rehab Registered Nurse (RN) to provide high-quality patient care on a fast-paced Medical-Surgical/Rehab unit. The RN will deliver patient-centered care, collaborate with interdisciplinary teams, and support safe transitions throughout the continuum of care. This role requires strong clinical judgment, excellent communication skills, and the ability to care for a diverse patient population in a high-acuity environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver safe, evidence-based nursing care utilizing the nursing process.
  • Assess and evaluate patient conditions; apply critical thinking to care planning.
  • Incorporate relevant assessment and intervention skills into daily practice.
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to develop and implement individualized care plans.
  • Prioritize patient needs, education, rounding, and discharge planning.
  • Communicate effectively and professionally with patients, families, and care teams.
  • Educate patients and caregivers on treatment plans, health promotion, and disease prevention.
  • Uphold Relationship-Centered Care principles throughout all interactions.
  • Conduct purposeful hourly rounding addressing the 4 Ps.
  • Establish therapeutic, empathetic, culturally sensitive relationships with patients.
  • Escalate concerns through appropriate channels and support service recovery efforts.
  • Practice safe and compliant patient care; identify and escalate safety concerns.
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives and evidence-based practice activities.
  • Utilize electronic medical record systems accurately (EPIC preferred).
  • Support high reliability and a culture of safety across all patient encounters.
  • Perform charge nurse duties when assigned.
  • Ensure proper use of supplies and escalate resource needs when appropriate.
  • Document thoroughly in compliance with regulatory and legal standards.
  • Facilitate efficient patient throughput during shifts.
  • Demonstrate professionalism, teamwork, and a commitment to lifelong learning.
  • Participate in shared governance, councils, and departmental initiatives.
  • Support unit colleagues, students, and interdisciplinary partners.

Qualifications

  • NYS Registered Nurse (RN) License – Required
  • BLS – Required
  • BSN preferred (ASN accepted with relevant experience or active BSN enrollment)
  • Minimum 2 years Med-Surg/Rehab experience – Required
  • EPIC EMR experience highly preferred
