Position Description

Job Title: Registered Nurse

Job Summary:

The Mobile Behavioral Health (MBH) programs at CASES provide evidence-based, community-based mental health services through Assertive Community Treatment (ACT) and Intensive Mobile Treatment (IMT) teams. These multidisciplinary teams serve adults with serious mental illness, often with co-occurring substance use disorders, histories of criminal legal involvement, and frequent use of crisis services, shelters, and hospitals. Services are highly individualized and focused on promoting recovery, wellness, and successful integration into the community.

The Registered Nurse provides medication management and administration, health assessment, counseling, and psychoeducation to support participant stability and recovery. At least 80% of services are delivered in the community, in alignment with the core principles of ACT and IMT, professional nursing ethics, and regulatory standards.

Shift Hours: This position is full-time Monday – Friday from 9:00 AM – 5:00 PM.

Salary: The salary for this role is $100,940 per year.

Location Address: We have ongoing openings for Registered Nurses across our offices in New York City located in the Bronx, Brooklyn, and Manhattan.. Our offices are easily accessible by public transportation.

Workplace Flexibility: Flexible - Staff have the flexibility to complete their workday from home or another suitable space, typically after reporting to the office and/or engaging in field or community-based work.

What You Will Be Doing:

  • Deliver at least 80% of nursing services in the community, including medication administration (oral and injectable), health assessments, psychoeducation, and monitoring of medication side effects and adherence.
  • Conduct health screenings and coordinate care with primary care, specialty providers, hospitals, shelters, housing providers, and other service systems.
  • Collaborate with prescribers, Licensed Practical Nurses (LPNs), and multidisciplinary team members to support participant health and recovery goals.
  • Complete timely and accurate documentation, including progress notes, assessments, and incident reports, in compliance with OMH, DOHMH, and Medicaid standards.
  • Use trauma-informed, culturally responsive, and recovery-oriented approaches in all services.
  • Participate in team meetings, case conferences, and on-call rotations as assigned.
  • Promote integrated care and improved health outcomes for participants with complex medical and behavioral health needs.
  • Help ensure we maintain a safe working environment by reporting any hazards or unsafe conditions, e.g., liquid spill in the hallway, to the appropriate facilities staff member or supervisor.
  • Any other duties as required by Team Leader and senior clinical leadership.


What We Are Looking For:

  • Current New York State Registered Nurse (RN) license.
  • Minimum of 2–3 years of experience working with adults with serious mental illness, co-occurring substance use disorders, trauma, homelessness, and/or criminal justice involvement.
  • Knowledge of community treatment models, support services, and resources for justice-involved and high-need populations.
  • Proficiency with electronic health records and basic computer skills.
  • Strong organizational skills, self-motivation, and ability to work independently in the field.
  • Commitment to recovery-oriented, trauma-informed care and social justice principles.
  • Individuals with lived experience are encouraged to apply.


Preferred Skills:

  • Fluency in Spanish.
